The Palestine Information & Communication Technology Incubator (PICTI) in partnership with Women’s Technical Affairs Committee (WATC) and Alianza Por La Solidaridad (APS) are implementing the project “Palestinian Women Enjoying their Economic Rights and Promoting Social Change” funded by Generalitat De Valencia. The project aimed to strengthening the role of women in the promotion of an inclusive and sustainable economic development and equality between women and men in Palestine and on strengthening capacities for the creation of economic initiatives and employment access for women survivors or at risk of gender-based violence in the West Bank.
PICTI is launching a competition of proposals for start-ups in the ICT sector (Hackathon) which will last for two days, to come up with innovative technological products/services/ or solutions that can protect and support women survivors of at risk of Gender-Based Violence.
This event in which people will work in groups on technological projects, will help in creating a functioning product by the end of the event and that product shall be adjusted to the needs of women survivors or at risk of Gender-Based Violence. All the ideas developed must follow the Do No Harm principle ensuring: right to safety; right to confidentiality; right to dignity and self-determination and right to non-discrimination of all women.
